About Fitzjohn's Primary School

Fitzjohn's Primary School is celebrating its area and history by using the distinctive street sign outside the school site as the new t-shirt logo : FITZJOHN'S NW3

Walking around London you'll notice that different boroughs have different nameplates, made in various styles. This is due to the history and peculiar features of the area and some of these signs are so very distinctive that you can practically tell where you are based solely on their lettering and style. Here in Hampstead, we are particularly fortunate to have many of these unique North London nameplates in ceramic, made in the Victorian age, showing original white lettering on a striking black background. They are so well known and peculiar to end up featuring on the back cover of the Beatles album Abbey Road.
